Under the EKUAL Project conducted by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, the Read and Publish agreement with the Institute of Physics (IOP) has become active for the period of 2026-2028. The agreement will provide access to content from the publisher’s IOP Science Extra and the Electrochemical Society (ECS) (Read), as well as enable publication without paying article processing charges (APC) through the open access publishing model (Publish). Detailed information about the platform and agreement is as follows:
Publication (Publish)
Under the agreement with the publisher, academics at Üsküdar University can publish their articles as open access without paying APCs.
- Corresponding author must be affiliated with Üsküdar University, and the institutional email address (@uskudar.edu.tr) must be used during the submission process.
- The corresponding author must be an active member of the academic staff.
- The agreement covers unlimited open access article publication in both hybrid journals and gold (gold/fully/full) open access journals. Click here for the list of funded journals.
- All articles submitted as of January 1st will be converted to Open Access (OA) in both Hybrid and Gold journals. This applies to new members; the articles of previous ANKOS members have already been published as OA. (Retroactive Open Access Conversion.)

Access (Read)
Under the terms of the agreement, we have access to content from IOPscience Extra and the Electrochemical Society (ECS).
IOPscience Extra is published by IOP Publishing, operated by the Institute of Physics. The database provides access to over 100 peer-reviewed academic journals, primarily in physics, as well as in astronomy, materials science, engineering, environmental sciences, biophysics, and mathematics. In addition to current publications, it encompasses the complete digital archive dating back to 1874 (IOP Journal Archive), thereby offering researchers access to more than 1 million scientific articles. To date, 132 Nobel Laureates and Fields Medalists have published articles with this publisher.
Electrochemical Society (ECS) is a leading scientific organization in the fields of electrochemistry and solid-state science. Supporting research since 1902, the ECS publishes academic journals and organizes conferences. Through the ECS, members have access to prestigious journals such as the Journal of the Electrochemical Society, as well as full-text articles and technical reports.
