Cambridge University Press Read and Publish Agreement Our Libraries


Under the EKUAL Project conducted by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, the Read and Publish agreement with the Cambridge University Press has become active for the period of 2026-2028. The agreement provides access to the publisher's Cambridge Journals Online (CJO) “Full Package” content (Read) and allows for publishing without paying APC fees through the open access article publication model (Publish). Detailed information about the platform and the agreement is as follows:

 

Publication (Publish)

Under the agreement with the publisher, academics at Üsküdar University can publish their articles as open access without paying APCs.

Retrospective Open Access Conversion: Under the agreement, the rules regarding the retrospective open access conversion of articles are as follows.

Publications in Hybrid Journals: Articles published between 1 January 2026 and 16 February 2026 (the agreement signing date): Articles that were published as closed access in hybrid journals during this period may be converted to Open Access without paying any fee. The author(s) must submit a request by email to ukg@ulakbim.gov.tr. The conversion is subject to the approval of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM.

Articles in hybrid journals that were already published as Open Access by paying an APC are not eligible for a refund.

Publications in Fully Open Access Journals: For articles published between 1 January 2026 and 16 February 2026 in Gold Open Access journals where an APC was paid, no refund will be provided.

General Conversion Right: During the term of the agreement, articles published as closed access in hybrid journals may be converted to the Open Access model: The request must be made by the author. The conversion must take place within the same publication year. The request must be submitted no later than 3 months after publication.

It publishes more than 420 peer-reviewed academic journals covering the fields of humanities, social sciences, science, technology, and medicine. We have full access to all of these journals.
