Within the scope of the EKUAL Project carried out by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, access to more than 2,300 electronic journals of Springer Nature publishing house is provided.
The existing 2022-2024 Springer Nature agreement, which was an access (Read) agreement, has been transformated into a "Read & Publish" model as of January 1, 2024 to cover the period 2024-2026.
Within this second national "open access article publishing agreement", all EKUAL member institutions in Turkey will continue to have access to more than 2,300 e-journals of Springer Nature.
In addition, "Original Article", "Review Article" and "Continuing Education" type publications of the authors of EKUAL Member Institutions (Üsküdar University is a member)in Springer Nature Hybrid Journals of Q1 and Q2 Group in Web of Science (SCI, SSCI, AHCI) will be covered by AE support.
Publications submitted and accepted to Springer Nature hybrid journals, whose corresponding author is an EKUAL Member, can be published with "Open Access" without paying the Article Processing Charge (APC), if the author wishes.
*There is an annual AE article publishing quota within the scope of this agreement. In the event that the annual quota for publishing OA articles is exhausted, if the author of the relevant publication wishes to have his/her article published as OA, he/she or the funding institution will have to pay the APC fee.
According to the terms of the agreement, there will be no "AE article quota allocation" for institutions. If requested by the author, the publication of the corresponding author whose article is accepted in the journals in question will be ranked according to the order of arrival of the publication, and if there is a quota, ULAKBIM will give approval for the AE publication of the articles that meet the criteria.
The list of journals (810) (valid between 01.01.2024 - 31.12.2024) for AE article publication support is given below. The Q1/Q2 list to be published on JCR on 01.07.2024 will be valid until 31.12.2025. It will be announced when the new list is announced.
It will be sufficient for the corresponding author to be an employee of an EKUAL member institution (Üsküdar University is an EKUAL member institution) and to mention the name of the member institution under the name in the publication.
When applying for an article, it is important to use institutional e-mails in order for AE approval processes to run smoothly.
*As each of our academicians has an ORCid account and number, the current institution in these accounts should be edited as Üsküdar University.
What Authors Need to Know:
- The researcher must be the corresponding author of the article.
- Types of articles covered by the agreement: Original Paper, Review Paper, Continuing Education.
- After the article is accepted for publication, researchers are required to introduce themselves to the system during the author identification process. In this process, your researcher must have a primary affiliation to the selected institution.
